Forest Folk is a company that specialises in personally designed, handcrafted furniture for people that still have that preference towards a personal touch and the knowledge that their furniture is unique and not mass-produced.

Richard Nagel studied purpose made joinery and furniture design with the London City and Guilds in England (1982 - 1987) and has been involved with the industry ever since, in England as well as South Africa

Utilizing the beauty of natural solid woods we have never governed ourselves to one particular species of tree, but instead lead a never ending search for that perfect wood for that specific piece of furniture being crafted.

All jointing is done by hand with chiseled mortice and tenon joints, dovetails and miters.

The furniture is waxed instead of varnished, giving a beautiful patina at the same stage as allowing the wood to breathe and carry on living.
