Dawn of the Dark

I had created a picture with this poem on for the "Dawn of the Dark Challenge"
on Renderosity but unfortunately the entry was rejected.
I though it still might be enjoyed though. I have permission from the challenge
moderators to post it in my personal gallery.

******************

The explosion was fierce as the worlds did collide
The heat overflowed and so did the tide.

Those who were lucid screamed and scurried,
While those in a dream were slow not hurried

They scuttled around to escape from the blast
This was the day that became my last

Softly quietly, without a word
The planet crept up without being heard

As people inhaled at the eerie sight
The burning ball looming in the night

No rockets were ready to save the day
No planes or arks to ferry away

This was the end of earths life spark
This fateful day was the Dawn of the Dark.
