The Inner You

Pampering and primping,
Squeezing into clothes.
Lathering our faces,
Shortening our nose.

Diet after diet
To loose those extra pounds.
Silicone implants
Increase our mammory mounds.

Up at five to run around
and shed some extra sweat.
Pushing to the limits
Until we’re all quite wet.

Fatigue is countered with a pill,
Depression is as well.
Self worth is down the tubes I see,
and confidence in Hell.

Focusing on outer shell
Has left us all quite drained,
Instead of looking inwards
An empty shell we’ve claimed.

So what you see around us
is not always what is true,
A fuller happy person
Should be the real you.
